Allan, I respect what you do, and can't really say I grasp all of the underlying principles. Two things have troubled me recently. You may have seen this week's Business Week story about shops who encourage novices to day trade, with the result being enormous losses for these tyro traders. I am concerned that trading is something very few can master successfully. Is it your view that anyone--properly educated--can be a successful trader? The second issue is realated to the first. I can name enormously successful value investors such as Buffett, but the names of Hall of Fame traders with enormous wealth elude me. Perhaps I just have to look hard enough. Who are the best known trading millionaires/billionaires? Why trade, when you can buy a "value" stock, forget about it, and reap your rewards as profits compound a la the Graham/Dodd/Buffett school? I'm genuinely interested in the views of a professional trader on these matters. Thanks in advance.
