CARMANAH WELCOMES MR. MARK HAROLD AS PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Vancouver, British Columbia – September 4, 2001- Carmanah Technologies Corporation
(CDNX: CMH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mark Harold, P.Eng, as the Product
Development Manager of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Carmanah Technologies Inc. ("Carmanah" or the
"Company").
From 1995 to 2001, Mr. Harold held the position as Engineering Manager for Pacific Insight Electronics, a
manufacturer of automotive, heavy truck and marine electronics. From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Harold was a
Mechanical Design Engineer/Group Manager for Motorola Canada (Wireless Data Group), where he
also held a seat on Motorola's Mechanical Engineering Steering Committee and, in 1993, was selected as
the recipient of the Motorola Divisional Outstanding Constribution Award. From 1985 to 1989, Mr. Harold
worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer for TRW Canada in the Transportation Electronics Division,
where he designed and developed packaging concepts for electro-mechanical automotive control
instrumentation. Mr. Harold holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of British Columbia. He
obtained his Bachelor of Engineering from the Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.
As Carmanah's Product Development Manager, Mr. Harold will play an active role in the senior
management team, setting engineering objectives and implementation plans for directing the short and
long term strategic advancement of the Company. Mr. Harold's responsibilities at Carmanah include
overseeing new product research and development, production engineering, project development and
implementation, materials procurement, and quality control. "Carmanah is excited about the expertise Mr.
Harold brings to the Carmanah team," said Mr. Art Aylesworth, C.E.O. of Carmanah, "his knowledge,
depth of experience and leadership capabilities make him a valuable asset as the Company pushes to
become a major player in the world markets for solar L.E.D. navigation and safety lighting."
