By resolution V, on promotion of a democratic and equitable order, the Assembly would reaffirm that all States should promote the establishment, maintenance and strengthening of international peace and security, and to that end should do their utmost to achieve general and complete disarmament under effective international control. It would urge States to continue their efforts, through enhanced international cooperation, towards the promotion of a democratic and equitable international order. un.org
