Avalon dual lists on electronic stock exchange

Avalon Pharmaceuticals is joining a handful of other local companies to be listed on the Archipelago Exchange, an open, all-electronic stock exchange.

Germantown-based Avalon, which began trading on the Nasdaq Sept. 29, is dually listed on the Archipelago Exchange (ArcaEx) under the same ticker symbol, "AVRX."

Stock in Avalon, a developer of small-molecule drugs for cancer, was priced initially at $10.50 a share but has since fallen to about $8.50 a share.
