GE Venture Buys SBS Technologies [WSJ]

General Electric Co. said GE Fanuc Embedded Systems, its joint venture with Japan's Fanuc Ltd., agreed to acquire SBS Technologies Inc. for about $215 million. SBS, which is based in Albuquerque, N.M., designs and builds computer boards and systems for products such as robots, aircraft and unmanned vehicles. The deal values SBS shares at $16.50 each, a 55% premium to Friday's closing price of $10.64 on the Nasdaq Stock Market. GE said it expects the deal to close in the third quarter.
