Chris, PCS (in various forms) is rolling out already--BellSouth is offering a GSM based system here in RTP (North Carolina), plus the system that's up in Baltimore/Washington. And, of course, CDMA will be there any minute now (just ask Airtouch--they're soooo talkative). But are people running out to drop $200 on new handsets that might not work outside their local area? Not anybody I know. The problem is that VARI-L is a dog. It will be a dog until handset sales pick up considerably--maybe next year. Until then stay out (wish I had done the same--bow wow wow.)
