Thu 11 Jul 2002 News Release
Mr. Wayne O'Connor reports
BAND-ORE RESOURCES LTD. - SHAREHOLDER UPDATE
Work conducted by Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc. on the GQ property
north of Wawa, Ont., in the last month has consisted of an ICP soil
sampling program along 18 kilometres of flagged lines where over 700 soil
samples have been collected. A limited soil sampling program completed last
November proved to be an effective method for outlining diamond bearing
breccias on the property. Samples have been submitted to ALS Chemex for
24-element ICP analysis with the results expected later this month.
Geological mapping and prospecting are continuing along geologically and
geophysically favourable areas on the GQ property. Four new areas of
heterolithic breccias have been identified and will be mechanically
stripped, washed and channel sampled in the coming weeks. Most recently, a
new breccia zone was discovered along the shore of the Magpie River, where
it is exposed for 40 metres along the shoreline. Three 10-kilogram grab
samples of breccia material were collected and have been submitted for
caustic fusion and microdiamond analysis. Results from these samples are
expected next month.
All exploration work on the GQ property was performed under the direct
supervision of qualified person Kevin Kivi (PGeol, principal geologist,
diamonds, Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc.).
Pursuant to the option agreement (see Stockwatch April 16, 2002), Kennecott
can earn a 70-per-cent interest in the GQ property by spending a minimum of
$15-million on exploration and by completing and financing all work on the
property until a decision to mine has been made.
