Hi John, Yes, I work for SP (UP now) and i notice more rail traffic on this southern route since merge happened Sept 12th. UP saves about 450 miles on some of its cross-country traffic by using the southern route, i understand. UP is planning on adding a couple more main-line receiving tracks in yard here, and adding more double track here & there on southern route. They didn't waste any time. The very day of the merger, they came in and started tearing down and removing things that are in the way of their yard modifications here. JN
