Frank, If Brown&Co. works for you stay with it. I can't speak for every broker but my day traders get excellent execution. However my time is limited and I can only handle seven such clients. So I can see your point about some brokers being slow. Interms of usefullness that all depends on who you deal with. People will always pay for profits and information. Finding a good broker is not easy, I use to be on your side of the tracks before I joined Wall ST. Interms of this market, short term trading is the approach. If your patient there are some stocks that can be bought and held for a couple of days or weeks. For example: USF(new high 26.875), looking for 31-32 in next two months with 15% stp. DRTK, COMS, PSIX,STLC, MOT, TXN, PKD and the list goes on. Interms of day trading my guys trade everything they get a feel for(CUBE,ASND,CSCC,USRX,PRMS,RDRT,SHVA,PAIR) and you know, that list trades daily.
