nope...detroit wont recommend it...i use ursa (texaco), straight 40 weight deisel formula...or dryden....

well...lemme change that...i dont change...i use the ursa...used to use dryden in the old cats that i had four years ago...for all intents and purposes it is the same...neither one owns a refinery...it is all marketing from the refinery outward...

it takes fifteen (15) gallons to change oil in both engines...hooboy!...that is another reason not to use the syntec...however, there are additives that give the same result, such as that...uh...crap, i cannot remember the name right now...you know what im talking about...costs 12 to 15 bucks for a quart to put in your car...you can buy the same sort of stuff that is formulated for diesel engines, and use the prescribed amount per gallon as you would otherwise...

anyway, until the warranty runs out in one more year...i use what they say...

i bought an unbelievable warranty when i repowered...5 year///8,000 hours, whichever comes first...1,025 each side...best money i ever spent...not that i have had much trouble with them, but it doesnt take long to do in two grand with a breakdown on this type of rig...it aint no toy...
