I don't have a preference over the two, but if you researched the companies and like them you should buy both of them. When people ask me if they should own coke or pepsi stock I give them the same answer, the same holds true with mdt and gdt, no use of fighting over which one is better just buy them both. I am not familiar with biotechs to much but a company that I like in that area is INCY, I don't own it, but sure like what I see. I am looking to buy COHR a leader in laser technology, and then of course there is KLAC and AMAT which are the only 2 companies that I trade in and out of.
