i think you are right, this will take a long time to unwind. folks say that in 2010 and 2011 we have lots more mortgage re-sets coming for Alt A and prime, jumbo loans....ie, the banks will be pressured for a long time and will not be interested in extending new credit...not to mention people have too much debt already and cant take on more credit. after 1929, debt did not recover and grow for decades. rp
