Kind of stooping pretty low when you have to cite a self-professed "paleo-conservative" who still praises the legacy of Ronald Reagan..

Although his criticisms of Bush often align him with the political left, Roberts, surprisingly, does not see himself as having changed sides. He continues to praise Ronald Reagan and to endorse many of Reagan's policies, arguing that "true conservatives" were the "first victims" of the Bush administration [1]. He has said that supporters of George W. Bush "are brownshirts with the same low intelligence and morals as Hitler's enthusiastic supporters."[2]

Shame he doesn't say anything about either Reagan's invasion of Grenada, support of the Contras, dealings with Iran and Iraq, and being a strong supporter of Israel...

I mean goodness gracious Sly... one would think that there must be some very bad blood between the Bush's and Mr. Roberts. After all, Bush hadn't done anything that Reagan didn't do.

And the odds are, were Reagan faced with the events of 9/11, his policies would make Bush look like a featherweight.. And Reagan would have the charisma and "presence" to carry it off.
