Hi Joe,

At the risk of speaking ill of a friend of a friend, Lisa's article was absurd to the point of being laughable, if it weren't for finding myself extremely annoyed by it. Netscape is Novells browser partner same as Compaq. She might have made a point of Microsoft not being able to stop Novell from integrating it into their product, as opposed to Compaq, but the rest of it is pure garbage. It was the kind of article that is targeted at the unwashed massed, those that don't think, and believe everything they read. Pure pro Microsoft propaganda. Spread enough FUD and eventually some of it sticks.

From the articles by her that I've read in the past, I believe she is intelligent enough to know that what she wrote is nonsense, but she wrote it anyway. There is a term for people that will compromise their principals for money to do something nice for whoever is paying them. It's on the tip of my tongue. What is that word?

While on the topic of sloppy journalism; has anyone seen any articles about Netscape being for sale that are not "rumor", "speculation", or "unable to be reached for comment"? I haven't.

Regards,

Don

PS I've been trying not to say anything about that article for a whole day. It didn't work.
