It all depends on where you start your history. My locals start theirs when Captain Cook showed up and Western Civilization started oppressing them. Of course they don't want to mention that at this time the one's on Oahu were killing their way though the ones on Maui.

Just about every Indian tribe we were supposed to have oppressed were killing other tribes when we showed up.

I won't even start with the history of Britain.
