The important distinction is choice, which is what America is all about. People are free to choose whether or not to use a credit card. While I'm sure a national i.d. card that has to be flashed and scanned by a hotel clerk in order to rent a hotel room for a little afternoon delight will cut down on illicit affairs <g>, I'm not sure that's Uncle Sam's business.
