First, reading an opposite meaning into Bush's words is great fun, but not very reliable in estimating what will happen down the road. Second, China will not invade Taiwan, which it desires intact. It will only put pressure on it. In the past, a modest show of support from the United States has sufficed. I do not think all of military will be tied up, especially our navy, so any show of support will continue to have force.
