Z Re...Listen, I was brought up by a libertarian father and a rather apolitical mother, and was taught not to trust polticians at all. In fact, I still don't, very much. Until late 2000, I was convinced that the actions of public officials would have absolutely no bearing on my life or the life of any of those around me, and I wore that feeling on my sleeve. Hell, until I was 16, I thought that Presidential candidates in both parties were pretty much the same, and the only characteristics that separated the two were experience and charisma. Turns out, I was very, very wrong..

Which is very nice and fuzzy, but misses my point. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough on the question. What turned you from a moderate dem. ,so far left, such that you would join the likes of Bush haters, like TED and AL, who will believe anything anti Bush, or turn anything into an anti Bush tirade. Did you see Ted's response yesterday, where he said he didn't believe Joe's link to the audio of GW wishing Clinton well, and there were no booing sounds on the tape. It could have been edited my a##. Get real. And you want to back looney tunes like that????

Tell any lie they want... please... I just watched 12 hours of the RNC.

Which is easy to say, but could be harder to prove, unless you have a wierd definition of lying. And my bet is, given you definition, I could prove the Dem convention speakers lied just as much. Of course that could be hard to prove, as no one watched, or remembers anything about their convention.

I'm not encouraging a civil war, I've just said that I would not be surprised if we were to have one during my lifetime.

You and Ted said that you wouldn't be surprised if GW's election caused a civil war. What, has that got to do with 5,10, or 60 yrs from now. Secondly, what specifically, would GW do to trigger a civil war, much as Lincoln's election did. Thirdly, you are eschewing democratic principles, when you say, rather than follow your democraticly elected president, you think sedition would be appropriate, or running to Canada. If you don't like what the current president is doing, elect smeone with ideals closer to yours next time. If you think sedition is appropriate, then that would mean you have no hope of having anyone close to your ideals elected, which puts you in with the far left segment, beyond Moore even.

>The far left, Ted and Al hated GW long before he was elected

I didn't, though...

You didn't then, but you are now, and the question is why? Ted has a long history of anti GW hate, and even longer anti republican hate. By joining with them, you are accepting their principles and history. Sort of like joining a gang. ONce there, you adopt their hatreds, priciples, and actions. Perhaps you don't see yourself that far out, but if you want to see what you will be like 5 yrs from now, look at what it has done to them. You too will be accusing nice guys, like Tench, of outrageous things, just because that is who you are.

Had the Iraqis in fact showered our troops with flowers, and had we captured bin Laden at Tora Bora in 2001, and had Bush not tried to push ANWR drilling and snowmobiles in national parks, or undermine Roe v. Wade, or push school vouchers, or unfund No Child Left Behind, or ban federal funding of embryonic stem cell lines, or made statements about listening to God when going into Iraq, or done or not done a whole host of other things, I might be backing him instead of Kerry today, and might be a Republican.

In other words, if GW had done everything your way, you would have been a republican. If Gw had done everything your way, he himself, would have been a democrat, not a republican. Besides, name me one outrageous thing on that list, which justifies preaching sedition? Why can't you just disagree with his policies, and work for getting your man or woman in office next time. That is how you make changes? You don't join a radical fringe group, which has no chance of electing someone elected. You do it gradually, by keeping on electing people, closer, and closer to your views.

. If I find out I'm wrong, I'm pretty inclined to admit it.

LOL You may now, but after being with Ted for another 5 yrs, I doubt it. You will be dissing Tench, and everyone else, who crosses your path, because, that is they way that gang works, and if you cross them, they will turn on you too. Instead of McCarthyized, you will be Tedicized.
