Joe, if you're really comparing against an 840 system, then it's true that everything but the processor should be pretty much equivalent in cost. I doubt that Dell is shipping 840 boards there, though. I just checked at dell.com, the XPS B series is listed as 820 based. Sort of a lonely holdout on that front, I imagine.

The mainstream 840 board, the OR840, is likely going to continue to be more expensive than P4 boards; the lowest I've seen the OR840 for is $300. $1300 for a 1gz PIII/ 840 system would be really, really cheap, actually.
