DScottD,

My favorite was Falstaff. I think it's long gone, though. Several million years ago, Falstaff had a huge outdoor electric sign over one of the viaducts, which showed an enormous pilsner glass being filled with the golden bubbly, complete with foamy head. This glass would fill, drain, then fill again, and it ran continuously, 24 hours a day. That sign was as impressive as anything Reno or Las Vegas has ever had, and it's one of my most vivid childhood memories. I'm not quite sure what that says about me.

As for Steak-n-Shake, we used to say that if you give 'em three potatoes they could feed all of Missouri with their french fries. I used to love Steak-n-Shake, but that was before I became a devout vegetarian. I'm glad to hear they're still around and haven't been run off by the ubiquitous franchises. We know the ones.
