Janice,
I have read your humorous comments for some time, both on this thread as well as others. You're a case study in negativity. The only thing that makes miserable people happy is in making happy people miserable.
Here are some facts:
1) Ed Kelly, whom I met one time, is a tough guy. That's a plus. Our leaders are all tough. 2) Ed Kelly is an engineer by trade. That is good and bad. Engineers think logically but the world does not work by logic. Remember, Henry Ford, another Irish engineer was going to build only black cars which is good cost reasoning except that some lady in East Podunk wanted a red car. 3) The machine works. Kelly is not a marketer and he can only guess where they should be placed for the highest return. In this area he should step aside. However, that would mean giving up control of his company to outsiders who would market his gizmo. Will he do this? If the past is any indicator, he will not and could only be successful by accident but not for long. 4) Engineers should be given a large area in which to tinker. They should not be permitted to have ANY contact with the rest of their company except through special envoy. ie. "Hey Ed, what say you go make a fried onion ring machine. Oh by the way, the CEO likes what you're doing. But no he doesn't want to meet you." 5) The drug market, both legal and illegal, is huge. What makes you think that your new herb is going to be a success? On the other hand, if there is no drug market your chance for success is negligable. Bet this makes you remember your "Up in Smoke Days" doesn't it Janice? Kelly may get a % of the market. But could he have a machine made just for bars or even MickyD's?
Peace, Irish Jack |
