It's beyond me. I sit here and read what is going on, and can't believe that Olmert, et al, don't understand that there is not a chance in hell of making peace with the Pals right now. I don't see that much pressure from us for them to even try. Olmert's a hard-line Likudnik by background. This much, he knows. I guess he is trying to posture in some way to bring himself short-term diplomatic benefits (outside of Israel) and political benefits so that he can survive a little longer (inside Israel).
