My view at this point is that we have been snookered... INSTEAD of CPQ releasing this news by themselves two weeks ago, they filtered thru SSB's Gardner first of all, then released the "rumor" about inventory in the channel, then the next rumor via some other analyst, etc. The most conspirational theory I can come up with to account for the data is that CPQ believed that a gradual info trickle thru the rumor mill was the safest way to go for a soft landing. Perhaps if they would have warned directly 2-3 weeks ago we'd be at 16 now. I have no idea which is the "safest" course of action to take. Any ideas?

I certainly don't trust CPQ managment to manage the stock per se... seems like they've done a dis-service this time around.
