One of the problems that I have encountered with value investing, especially small value stocks is that I can sit on a "undervalued stock" for years and it is never discovered. Here are 5 stocks that are in the same sector that are a case study in value stock selection. RSTI COHR XLTC GSLI and ESIO.
If I change the time frame for the following chart I find it mind boggling the change in returns of these stocks for different periods.

The reason I list all five stocks is I thought that at least one of the five would fit just about everyones parameters for a value stock. I have followed this group of stocks over several years and they drive me crazy.

My choice of the group as I posted this last week is RSTI, however if the world economy starts/continues to expand this group will benefit directly. Especially the semis, however several of these companies stated in the most recent PRs that they see a slow down in this sector.

I mentioned the falling dollar earlier when discussing the big Pharma and the effect on earnings and sales. In RSTI's latest quarterly report; "The weakening of the US-Dollar against the Euro had the effect of increasing net sales by $26.3 million in fiscal 2004." The dollar is in a secular decline and the earnings and competitiveness of companies in the international markets are going to be positively influenced.

Speaking of Pharma, I got back into PFE Friday and TEVA at the first of the week.

I had a coherent thought pattern when I started the post but seem to have lost it along the way. Enjoy the Journey!
