Peter,

I tried to compare the AGC's codec to Nuko's a while back since both
companies entered CISCO reseller market with seemingly competing
product but I haven't been able to get very far. I did find a reference to AGC codec doing 30 Frames/s at average 9Ms compression and having same DS3, OS3 ATM connectivity options as Nuko's.
I think I did read somewhere that 30 frames/s is a minimum requirement for quality video.

What did concern me is the connection AGC has with GTE/ATT(they actually funded the company?) with respect to Nuko getting businness with them thru Cisco. AGC has been selling a lot of their equipment
to GTE even getting some sort of 'supplier of the year award' from them. From what I read QOS means a lot with Telcos.

AGC also has an ADSL family of products called GateWay. However, it
doesn't appear to be able to support anything more then 1.5Ms reliably
which isn't enough for video. Recent GTE ADSL trials did use AMTX
instead.

Well, I'm just trying to get educated myself but it's coming slowly. Your last post was great.
