well, i've made a little progress with the za prob on my win95 pc....
now i've got it down to blue screens only when i configure za to load on windows startup. the bsod's do not happen, btw, until i try to access the internet.
but if i configure za to not load at windows startup, i have success in two ways....
one, i can get on the web just fine, no prob, but za is not enabled.
two, i can turn za on from the start\programs menu and access the net no prob, thus having za enabled and producing alerts, etc.
so, i have determined that there is something about loading za on startup that really isn't sitting too well with my machine.
the blue screens are of two varieties....
exception error at VxD NDISFILT(01) called from VxD VTDI(01)
and...
VxD ---, called from VxD PPPMAC(04).
i should note that this situation is nowhere close to being an emergency. more of a curiosity and a puzzle that is fun to solve. i think that i can get it repaired by just following the same logical process that we like to adhere to here on the cl thread. <g3> the pc is actually in better shape now than prior to installing za, in that the internet connection works, and i have now an additional firewall running to enhance security. really, the way things are at this moment, the only puzzler is.... why can't i access the web when i let za load at startup?
any passing thoughts or ideas are certainly invited, but please do not go hard on this.
:)
