j b, You missed my point. Maybe I did not express myself clearly. You brought up smoking...well, let's look at what we're finding out about smoking 30-40 years later. Lot's of side effects that were not recognized 40 years ago. Now that we're seeing all the dangers of smoking, most are confused as to why one would continue to smoke.

Abortion will always be legal in this country...that's a given. Though I personally oppose abortion in all circumstances, that was not my point regarding abortion. My point is that, after 30 years, we are now finding extremes that the law is being stretched to include. There is a real effect on women after the fact. If the "side effects" are brought up in public debate, the feminist immediately accuse the person of wanting to "do away" with abortion. That is not the case. All I'm saying is that there does need to be SOME access to counseling as to all available choices, for the sake of the woman's future mental health. None of these choices are available now. Again, this is an issue that needs to be addressed on a state by state basis.
