hi tc
nobody's gonna sneak the crack of dawn past you, that's for sure!
i just started back in fiddling with the two firewalls on win95 pc. when last i left you, my plan was to stop npf from loading at start up, and to add za back into start up. you may recall that up until now, having za load on start up resulted in a bsod every time.
well, it worked. starting za on reboot without npf is a go. then, i enabled npf manually, and all was still well.
soooo, i'm now once again going for the ambitious route of having both firewalls load on windows start. i'm testing that now. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that one of them learned something (i mean, somebody has to, right?), and maybe they'll finally find a way to coexist.....
not gonna happen. blue screened me with "VxD ---, called from VxD PPPMAC(04)". oddly, i was able to continue past the bsod by "hitting any key to continue" (the space bar). i don't think i have ever been able to get past a bsod in this manner, even though the 'continue' language is there.
so, for now, until i hear from za support, i'll just start za manually.
btw, pw pm'd me with a possible solution that i still have to play with. tomorrow is another day. or is today another day?
:)
