I read some interesting information. The sperm only needs to swim about 7 inches (no--that wasn't the interesting information). But if the sperm were the size of a whale it would be swimming at about 15 THOUSAND miles per hour or Mach 20. So if whales were sperm the shipping industry would be in really big trouble. How much warning would those big cruise ships get? That is over 4 miles every second. You're admiring the ice sculpture at the buffet and 2 seconds later the whole ship is pregnant?

Anyway, sperm do not have the full set of chromosomes so they are defective humans and may be left to die just about anywhere without any moral considerations. But if they bite an egg instead of merely swim for the egg--then we must grant them the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is just common sense. Why not? They are far less aware than a bee or a fly. So why shouldn't they have rights?

It boggles the mind to even consider how many sperm are abandoned to die every day. The number must be astronomical. But the ONE SPECIAL SPERM who is the fastest swimmer must be protected. Because it was PREORDAINED. The guy masturbated just the correct number of times over the year and ate just the right foods and made all the correct turns and drew the exact number of breaths in the exact pattern and sequence. Therefore...the egg has RIGHTS--just like any other scholar.

EDIT: Of course, that only goes for HUMAN sperm and HUMAN eggs. Chickens don't masturbate so there is no synchronicity to consider...

Humans are quite special and we are very very smart. Other life dosen't count for much but we surely depend on it--especially tomatoes which we are no longer scared of.
