weatherguru, I have a theory and am asking you to either validate it or debunk it.

I have noticed in northern climes, such as far northern Montana and Washington state, the temperature in the summer often rises to 100 or more. My theory is that since the earth is tilted toward the sun, those areas are closer to the sun and get hot! (Since I hate the heat, I figure this is the reason I suffer.)
