Actually I do not recall would be better then invoking the 5th according to a conversation I was having on this with Smithee. But your also correct in that after Libby I would be darned if I would take the chance of being charged with perjury because my recollection wasn't the same as someone else's.

This is all Bush's fault for dealing with yet another non issue with silence allowing it to turn into an issue. They should have responded immediately with "They serve at my pleasure and it was my pleasure that they leave. And by the way the 93 that Clinton fired were to serve at his pleasure and it was his pleasure that they leave also, now F off."

It will soon become impossible if it's not already to get quality people to want any part of working for the government.
