I think you will find Skin color in listed as one of the six things that people relate to racism. Dark skin is not a race. it is a color that the KKK used to identify the people their ego chose to attack. More than the black population have darkened outer appearance. The aborigine are not considered blacks.

Native or first Nation populations are not treated equal to other species regarded by a good number as lazy and drunks, A few are just like in other ethnic groups. But not all are, Some are very industrious hard working and others are highly educated. But they still seem to be classified in general because they live on a reserve where the government rounded up their Great and Grand parents like cattle and placed them. It was not the Indians choice to reside there. But there is still resentment because of who they are and where they live.

In BC some blatantly despise East Indian people. because they wear Turbins, Financially Group together and buy up large areas of farms and orchards. The first generation wear cloths like they did in the country they immigrated from (Loose robe like not western styles). That is not race hatred. Arabs, Chinese do the same thing. So do Jews .

People hate Muslims coming into the country get irritated and react negatively because some of their women also wear flowing covering robes like the east , a hijab . Yet no one seems to be offended when the everyday Christian born in Canada girls wear a Scarf or Kerchief covering their heads.

It's not the race people object to, It is the customs. Yet the same people will go to restaurants. Eat and enjoy Chinese, East Indian and ethnic foods from predominantly Arab / Muslim countries.

Not only the blacks are affected by Bigots. I can assure you I have not only seen it as you say. But have also been on the receiving end of that disdain. However I refused to allow it to interfere with how I went about every day life. I think you would find The Black Swan has felt it at times.

Mohamed Ali Scorned at first, Became a near Idol later. Sydney Portia the actor much the same.

How about Barrack Obama Not in my political arena but there is a lot of people from any ethnic background would love the chance to sit down and speak with him. Even US Senator Robert Bird former member and recruiter of the KKK regards him as a friend

Regardless of ethnic background. If you allow the opinion of others to hold them back. If they suffer from peer pressure, afraid to chase their dreams because of what others may think, say or do. They are living by someone else's standards. Not their own. Resulting in failure to accomplish desired goals and a total waste of ones very short life span.

A couple of guys who ridiculed me in early life. Ended up employed by me later on. Funny how the attitudes changed once they got to know me first hand. Perhaps a realization that people when you look past outside appearances, are more than just a string of DNA
