Kerry (et all of the demo candidates) doesn’t get it: if it had been left to Kofi Annan, the French, Germans, Russians, Canadians, Arabs and all but two of the nine Democratic Presidential candidates, Saddam Hussein wouldn’t be being inspected for lice by American medics, he’d still be sitting on his solid gold toilet in his palace reading about the latest massive anti-Bush demonstrations in Le Monde. The Iraqi people don’t want to place their future in the hands of an “international community” that found it more convenient to allow Saddam to go on torturing them.
I was driving today and heard a report that the UN would NOT sanction the death penalty against Saddam no matter what; Who is surprised? Not me, that body is full of officials appointed by people who would if they could step into Saddams shoes...no, since I last posted here, nothing has changed at all.
We need a new UN, one which has people representing the citizens of their respective countries who are not appointed by political thugs and depots. People picked for UN duty by a standards body without respect to home politics.
I UN representatives should be selected from applicants by ethical bodies whose job it is to codify and authenticate representatives from apolitical applicants.
Apolitical what the hell is that you ask? Fact is many UN member states have standards of appointment which are tied directly to the degree and severity by which the ascending power arrived at Control of any given population. Once ensconsed, they throw a suit tie or dress and shoes on an oligarch and ship them off to the UN for the sole purpose of extorting aid and comfort to whatever ends the homes regime stands for, without regard to any standards....what so ever.
Sorry, as a US citizen why would any of us care to submit ourselves to the opinions of well mannered thugs accorded with diplomatic status?... Without meeting a single standard, because that is exactly what we have now.
Fact of the matter is, as an American I dont want any representative of any country to have any say about me or my government...Ask yourself for the first time, who appoints these folks who occupy the seats of the worlds body of political largess?
What % of all UN member states have open and free economies?
What % of the governments of the world are not corrupt and or installed in their offices by non democratic means?
What % of the governing elite of UN member states do not see the average citizens within their home countries as chatel?
What is the record of the Selecting body? Who can say what % of the UN sitting personalities are not just bought and paid for instruments of some heinous political machine back home?
Ask Yourself; When was the first time You've wondered what credentials these folks have? Chances are you never did, because you like it just the way it is.
When the facts are on the table....then we take it to the next level...unitl then, the UN is a Big Lie, a waste of money, and should be accorded no respect what so ever. |
