John, the downtrend in SNDK shares began when Seagate began disposing of its entire share in the company (about 22% of outstanding shares). This would be enough to make any stock plunge. Now we might wonder whether Seagate officers had some inclination about where demand for flash memory was heading, or whether they were merely trying to raise cash in connection with management taking the whole company private. They also sold Veritas Software, which they held in abundance as well.

I reiterate, the lesson is still the same: If you lump flash memories and microprocessors and DRAMs together, as if one semiconductor is no different from another, you're going to make a lot of errors.
