Art, I don't know who your "sources" are but their information is contrary to the news and simple logic. If a Chinese jet had "fired a shot", that would be an act of war. Logically, the Chinese wouldn't have demanded an apology for shooting at our plane -- and U.S. big-wigs wouldn't have said they were "sorry" about being a target. There's no telling what we don't know and neither common sense nor truth correlate well with politics. As unlikely as it seems to me, perhaps your source is right. What I do know is that the SOX did quite nicely last week, including my Taiwan Semi shares. Apparently, the markets have diverted their fears from Asia to some other as-yet-undetermined target.
