But you haven't defended your position, at least not fairlyor coherently. That's the issue. You're just using a bunch of rhetorical techniques to avoid focus on your assertion, the false dichotomy.
You offered only two choices--execution or letting the killer kill again--when there are clearly other alternatives, the best of which E, among others, has advocated, which is life without possibility of parole. That is a false dichotomy.
Your "other" choice, fostering murder, is so extreme as to be utterly unconscionable. Yet you conjure up this unconscionable position and claim it's the standard liberal position. It doesn't get much more insulting than that.
Yet you haven't apologized for the insult or acknowledged the logical fallacy. You claim to have defended your statement but you have produced not a scintilla of evidence that anyone holds that position, let alone the totality of liberals. You should be ashamed of yourself, not calling me names for calling you on it. Either defend it by producing some supporting documentation or acknowledge your error. Or, alternately, just be quiet about it. |
