Dan, OEM's are going to be a lot more price sensitive going forward. AMD, going forward, has a lot more capacity (plus the lawsuit) to defang Intel's marketing extortion that has previously let them sell fungible parts for twice the price of its competitors.

Yes. Intel used to get, in terms of ASP, not a few speed grades higher, but double price for less performance.

They will be shocked to find that a couple of speed grades isn't what it used to be and the Monopoly Premium is History Inverse sticker shock/shrink.

AMD has proven its mettle, with HPC and all round innovation, plus partnerships and open standards.

The tooth paste is out of the tube. Lets see Intel put it back.

Intel was becoming Judge, Judy and Executioner, turning OEMs into bitches, trashing the industry and screwing, well, everyone (-dell). No, it will not go back any time soon.

AMD has always been popular at the consumer level, delivering value. It was the OEMs fear of Intel that kept AMD off the shelves.

Heck, this P4 price cut and NGA hype is a little like the behavior of a Drug Addict, holding himself hostage. If I can't twist your arm, I will twist mine, there, did you feel that?
