Yes, I have mentioned UTX several times as one company that actually
sells fuel cells for commercial and scientific applications.

With UTX and Toyota as 2 other formidable FC companies and GM being a third and a number of smaller outfits. I highly doubt Midland's research report of Ballard being able to retain 60% the Fuel Cell market is very good estimate. Midland's report is more likely for
PR purposes to get on Ballard's good side to be able to do another
equity financing to raise cash for more research.

There is no doubt fuel cells work. They have been used since the early Apollo Space Missions about the same time fuel injection was
born. The Challenge is to produce them cheaply. Right now for just
the Fuel Cell power Pack it costs $200,000.

Also the other problem with Fuel Cells are they operate at a steady
rate. But automobile power demand's are not steady state.

>>>Not sure if anyone mentioned United Technologies on this thread, but they look to be a very formidable competitor offering both PA and PEM fuel cells for stationary and automotive use through their International Fuel Cell subsidiary (actually a subsidiary of their Hamilton Standard division) which is a JV with Toshiba. Today
they announced plans to add 60 people to their automotive R&D staff, up from the current 90. <<<
