dppl,

In the past, Intel's low PE has always been attributed to the street seeing it as a cyclical company (similar to the auto industry) that will experience up's and down's, and not steady growth. The cost of R&D was a new one to me, although it makes some sense.

I still look at Intel as a growth stock, with some small cyclical interuptions in it's growth (flat revenue this qtr.).

All,

The next several weeks should produce some real volitility in the market as companies announce 2nd qtr. earnings. Look for any disappointments to really nail the stocks.

Negative pre-announcements, with everyone very edgy about valuations, have had devastating effects. It is a good time to be in cash, to pick up some good stocks at cheap prices (IMHO).
