Thanks for the info about Motorola and Boca Research and 56K modems. Although this technology depends heavily on being able to "tell" the local phone switch to let it use special operating modes, that shouldn't be too much of a problem for many who call the local phone switch to access the Internet. It apears that we are going to have a new option for Internet access at least, without the need to go to ISDN for now. I hadn't heard that the chip sets were ready for production, though; I will have to check that out. In any event, nice to see the market continuing to grow!
