Thanks for your response. I saw your post on April 11, I sure hope you didn't buy then, I didn't reply to that post because I appeared to have been ruffling enough feathers on this thread.
In response to your statement "they are a dying breed," unfortunately, sales tactics are so powerful (yet in many cases, subtle), that brokers will be fleecing the public for a long time. I've stated repeatedly that I am only trying to share insight, so that others may not have to repeat the same mistakes (and provide the same opportunities to brokers). Knowledge is power. It's absolutely amazing, though, how much negative response I've gotten from these posts.
I really didn't lose that much money with them. True, it was 70% of what I sent them, but they only got a small portion of my portfolio. As far as the order improperly executed, it was about $90.00 difference. Not a great deal of money, but most certainly indicative of the general moral climate at LL.
