Securant Technologies To Provide Pre-Integrated Web Access Management for BEA WebLogic Portal 4.0ClearTrust SecureControl Will Deliver Out-of-the-Box Access Management and Single Sign-On for Next Generation eBusiness Portal
SAN FRANCISCO, Jul 18, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Securant Technologies(R), the company that secures eBusiness, today announced that it has extended its strategic relationship with BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BEAS chart, msgs) to provide native inter-operability between the award-winning ClearTrust SecureControl(R) access management system and BEA WebLogic Portal(TM) 4.0. This integration will enable enterprises to seamlessly protect the information resources and transactions on the BEA WebLogic Portal using ClearTrust SecureControl, while virtually eliminating the need for custom integration work.

With this announcement, Securant will support the BEA WebLogic(R) E-Business Platform. ClearTrust SecureControl for BEA WebLogic Portal will be available when BEA ships this new product in Fall 2001.

"Secure, single sign-on is a top-of-mind issue for businesses deploying enterprise portals for employees, customers and partners," said Pat O'Haren, senior director of marketing, BEA E-Commerce Application Components Division. "Securant is a leader in portal security, and ClearTrust SecureControl will help our joint customers save valuable time and reduce costs as they securely manage access to enterprise portals."

By natively integrating with the BEA WebLogic Portal, Securant will enable BEA customers to centrally set, enforce and manage the security policies that govern user authentication, authorization and single sign-on for all their portal resources from one system. In addition, ClearTrust SecureControl's unique Detector functionality helps prevent application misuse and fraud by proactively monitoring, identifying, and taking countermeasures against suspicious activity on BEA-based systems.

"Building a single and unified access management layer to protect all the information and applications on a portal is critical in transaction-oriented business-to-business environments," said Eric Olden, chief technology officer, Securant Technologies. "Through our working relationship with BEA, ClearTrust SecureControl will provide enterprises with a complete, no assembly required infrastructure for centrally controlling user access to the BEA WebLogic Portal and its resources."

ClearTrust SecureControl will deliver a centralized, unified, and automated infrastructure for securing the BEA WebLogic Portal including:

--Multi-Domain Single sign-on across all BEA WebLogic Portal-based applications within a company, as well as affiliated applications that are hosted on separate partner and vendor Web sites

--Smart Rules-based authorization that allows customers to use natural language business rules to centralize, automatically assign, and dynamically adjust access permissions based on a user's profile (role, account balance, subscription level, etc.).

--Delegated administration using ClearTrust Virtual Business Units(R) that allow time-consuming user administration workloads to be distributed within a company (across departments, divisions, etc.); externally to partners and customers; and to individual users/subscribers via a self-service function.

--Fraud/threat detection that monitors a user's behavior within an application and can take countermeasures to proactively prevent application misuse and fraud.
