Norman, you're obviously persistant, and just as obviously unable to keep in mind the relationship between a individual equity and the market sector it is associated with. In case ya missed it, look at my post on this subject, #1939 I believe. Look at the price trends in these relevent funds, run by some excellent fund managers. John Hancock Special equities, Van Wagoner Emerging Growth, Aim Agressive, PBHG special equities, Putman OTC Emerging Growth, T. Rowe Price Science and Technology, Robertson Stephens Information age. Most of thest funds also sport excellent Alpha (MPT theory) andSharpe ratios.
If you can't grasp the significance of this post, and take the time to look at the charts of these funds, you need to cool it, cause all your accomplishing is convincing people all over the world that you are simultaneaouly hard headed and clueless. I may not be an incredibly successfull investor, but at least I have been able to grasp the fact that the price behavior of an equity does share a material measure of correlation to other similar equities.
