Why is it necessary that the auction seller be a Checkfree customer? Checkfree can send a check to anyone at any address, right? They just can't do an electronic transfer.

And another question...I'm curious how did Checkfree manage to get to this point? Now that Paypal is owned by eBay, why are they allowing Checkfree is as a competitor? Am I missing something?
