That joke is, uh, certainly on topic. :-)

I'm not sure I agree with "men on average find it easier to detach emotion from sex", at least as it applies to teenage boys. They can get thoroughly wrapped around the axle too. Intense sex can us puppy-eyed too. There is, however, that "macho" "real men don't cry" bit applied to them that makes them inhibit display of their terribly hurt, mistreated, abandoned emotions when an affair ends before they want it to and they're not the one who ended it. More years bring more perspective on this sort of thing, but that applies to women too.
