How so? If Intel is facing a shortage of Conroe desktop chips and low ASPs about the last thing they should want is Conroe being used as a cheap replacement for Merom in notebooks. There have been a few stories in the past about 965 chipset delays and shortages, and this story mentions a lack of third party support, so perhaps the problem is chipsets and/or motherboards.

I thought this news had a better fit with the rumor of Dell adopting AMD desktops by early Q4.
