I guess mine is a broader point...if we have had deflation for a while, one would expect (all things being equal) some relative cost savings if you are living same style life....but balanced against those things that HAVE gone up (I left out car insurance too) and a fairly modest expecation of things getting a bit better over time (Atari vs. Xbox- cupholders in car), that "deflationary" cost savings get eaten up pretty quick....if its even there.

Maybe now deflation really starts kicking in, but I question the overall impact so far to the average Joe.

I just gained a daughter 2 years ago, maybe that's the root of my problem-g
