I have no problem with belief in God per se, though belief in an interventionist God seems to me totally inconsistent with observed circumstances. I find organized religion an incomprehensible submission to a totally human and often totally unaccountable authority. I think it's more total disbelief than contempt. My first memory of organized religion is of Sunday Catechism classes. Every time someone asked a good question, they were told to have faith. I couldn't imagine how any thinking person could accept that, and I still can't.
