Amazingly, the Sunday Times is the only UK newspaper leading with the hostage story. Most of them seem more concerned with the accidental death of someone I've never heard of before.

The Brits cannot repeat the Carter error but Blair is talking about the the "long haul," suggesting that he is about to step precisely into the trap Carter fell into. We are still paying for that blunder. Blair knows he cannot let time pass.

Blair needs to start talking about some military responses because this is nothing but a test.

If the sailors are harmed, make the Iranians pay dearly. And if the Brits ask for help, we should give it wholeheartedly.
