I don't understand why Sony and other major Japanese brands are not aggressive in pushing 90-gram CDMA phones for export markets

I wondered the same thing, why we don't see them here in US either. Engineer responded that the Japanese in a bid to protect their home market reversed the forward and reverse links, ie they use opposite pieces of spectrum from what goes on in the rest of the world.In order to export they now have to re-engineer these products. I don't understand why that would be so difficult but that's what Engineeer says is happening. Strange stuff.
